Research Assistant, IMU Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur

Applications are invited for an enthusiastic and motivated Research Assistant to join a research team at the Department of Postgraduate Studies and Research. This position is a contract position and the successful candidate must register for his/her higher degree (either Master or PhD degree) with IMU. The candidate will be involved in a research project to produce monoclonal antibodies and recombinant allergens for the detection and diagnosis of house dust mite allergens and allergies.

Requirements

  • A 1st or 2nd upper class degree or Masters in Immunology, Microbiology, Biotechnology or any Medical Sciences subjects
    • Strong interest in immunology coupled with expertise in any of these disciplines in cell biology/immunology (microscopy, ELISA, or immunohistochemistry), molecular biology techniques (Western blotting, proteomics, PCR, DNA or RNA isolation), recombinant technology or animal cell culture techniques.
  • Ability to handle small animals for experimentation is highly desirable.
