SEAADE Innovation Awards

The SEAADE Innovation Awards are introduced to encourage innovations in dental education that enhance educational outcomes and/or student experience.

The Award comprises of a SEAADE Innovation Award Certificate and a cash prize of USD200 for the best presentation in each of the following categories.

1. Curriculum Design
2. Teaching and Learning Method
3. Assessment
4. Interprofessional Learning
5. Community Based Education
6. Simulation
7. Student Competencies
8. Education Technology
9. Faculty Development

The SEAADE Scientific Committee reserves the right to shortlist candidates for judging based on submitted abstracts. No prize will be awarded in any category that the judges deemed there is lack of innovation or the innovation/project did not achieve the objective.

Guidelines for Submission of Abstract for the SEAADE Innovation Award

 

• All abstracts must be submitted and presented in English only.
• Title of Abstract: Limited to 15 words.
• Authors: Name, designation, organization affiliation. An abstract can have multiple authors but only one presenter.
• Body of Abstract: Limited to 500 words.
  • Introduction / background as to why the innovation is necessary
  • Description of Innovation
  • Results of Evaluation
  • Discussion
  • Conclusion
• Preference of Presentation : Oral / Poster / No Preference.

 

Award Judging Criteria

 

1. Conceptual Depth: The presentation demonstrates originality, substance, and depth, as well as a robust conceptual basis.
2. Impact of Innovation : The innovation has a significant impact on educational outcomes and/or enhancing student experience as demonstrated by the evaluation results
3. Creativity of Innovation
4. Clarity: The presentation communicates its message effectively. It adopts innovative and visual approaches to communicate the information.
5. Potential of Innovation to be a best practice for adoption
