A message from the Dean
At the School of Postgraduate Studies, you can go on to obtain a Master’s or Doctorate Degree in any of our nine programmes. We provide a conducive atmosphere for our students, as well as experienced academics who facilitates their learning and supervise them as they go through their programmes. We have facilities for our students to ensure that they get the best out of their studies. Postgraduate students are a vital part of a research intensive university. They contribute to the intellectual vitality and vibrancy of the institutions as they learn, grow and develop. Our students have consistently won a number of grants and fellowships every year. These give them the opportunity to travel abroad to present their research findings at scientific conferences.

About the School
The School of Postgraduate Studies supports, administers and coordinates the training of higher degrees (Masters and PhD) by research and taught Masters programmes within the Faculty of Medicine and Health. As one of the five Schools in the Faculty, the School of Postgraduate Studies strives to ensure that all these activities are carried out to the highest standards. This School aims to enhance the quality of all aspects of the postgraduate and postdoctoral experience, both academic and social. The School continually attracts some of the best academics in the world, and many have become leaders in their fields.
The School aims to produce graduates with attributes that are sought by a wide range of employers, facilitates the development of research amongst its staff, strengthens linkages with other Research Institutes, and facilitates research-led approaches to teaching.
