“When we talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary.”

Counselling Services

University life can be compared to starting a whole new chapter of life. This journey’s main twists and turns are centred around self-discovery and self-reliance while you are learning to cope with being away from home, making new friends, balancing personal time, understanding, and meeting the demands of your course.  From time to time, while you are busying coping with these adjustments you may sometimes feel overwhelmed.

Our counsellors are every ready to journey along with you by providing the following services: individual/group counselling, career counselling, educational wellbeing, personal development, referral, and crisis intervention.

A

Individual Counselling – One on One Session

Humans are naturally social creatures, so talking and communicating with others is one of the primary methods we have for sifting through our thoughts. Unfortunately, we do not always feel comfortable talking to the people in our lives. When we are feeling overwhelmed, our emotions, worries and stresses can seem like too much to unload on a friend or a family member. That is where individual counselling is helpful to attend to your concerns objectively, offering a comforting word, encouraging self-exploration and improving the use of healthy coping skills to help you improve the quality of your life under confidentiality.

D

Group Counselling

Group counselling can act as a support network for students to feel a greater sense of connection to others and normalizes what they are going through. It provides a valuable space for students to share information about themselves, gain insight into their own thoughts and behaviours as well as learn healthy ways to give and receive support besides getting feedback from others. Some of our group counselling topics include stress management, communication skills, exploring relationship, why worry and enhancing coping skills.

B

Career Guidance

Choosing a career is an important task and it may not be easy to decide what type of job will be the best fit. In career counselling, counsellor helps you to explore on your skills, strengths, interests, abilities, values, personality, and the career options using various tools.   With better self-understanding and self- awareness, you would be able to make better inform decision of your career choices.
