Successful candidates are responsible for the following:
- Facilitate learning and carry out research activities in the IMU.
- Teach academic subjects to undergraduate and postgraduate students. Teaching methods include lectures, seminars, tutorials, problem solving learning, practical laboratory demonstrations, field work and e-learning. Multimedia technologies are increasingly used.
- Involved in academic management work as and when required by the Head of Department.
- Pursue own areas of research and develop these in order to contribute to the wider research activities of the department.

Candidates are expected to have MBBS or its equivalent qualification (registerable with Malaysian Medical Council) and a Master’s degree in Histopathology/Pathology (MPath or MD or MRCPath or PhD) with good academic and teaching experience.
- Community Medicine
Candidates are expected to have an MBBS or its equivalent qualification (registerable with the Malaysian Medical Council) and an MPH with a Dr.PH /PhD. Candidates must also have an established record of research with evidence of publications and must possess relevant teaching experience. Working experience in Malaysia and specialisation in a specific public health speciality will be an added advantage.
Candidates are expected to have MBBS or its equivalent qualification and a postgraduate degree in Anatomy (Master’s or PhD) with good research track and teaching experience.
Candidates are expected to have MBBS or its equivalent qualification and a postgraduate degree in Physiology (Master’s or PhD) with good research track and teaching experience.
- Clinical Skills
Candidates should possess MBBS or equivalent qualification recognized qualification by the Malaysian Medical Council. Candidate must also have a valid APC (Annual Practicing Certificate) in Malaysia. Possession of relevant clinical experience at least 6 years and teaching experience is essential.
Cognitive, Developmental and Health Psychology
Candidates must hold a Master’s and preferably a PhD degree in Psychology. Candidates must also have an established record of research with evidence of scholarly publications and possess relevant teaching experience. Affiliation with relevant professional body.
Candidates are expected to have a first professional degree in chiropractic and preferably a Master’s or PhD in a related field. Candidates should possess a minimum of 3 years of clinical/teaching experience and be eligible for registration with the Association of Chiropractic, Malaysia. Those with a recognised chiropractic specialty and / or advanced degree would have an added advantage.
- Nutrition & Dietetics
Candidates must possess an undergraduate degree and a PhD/Master’s in Nutrition and Dietetics/Dietetics. Candidates with clinical experience for dietetics would have an added advantage. Good interpersonal skills and research experience are essential.
Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics and /or Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree in Dietetics or equivalent. Candidate must have basic training in clinical dietetics practice and at least 3 years of working experience in the related field. Candidates should be fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Chinese Medicine
Candidates must hold a PhD qualification in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Preference will be given to applicants with acupuncture background.
Candidates must possess at least a Master’s Degree, or preferably PhDs (Nursing). Must be registered with Nursing Board Malaysia (NBM) and possess a current licensure to practise. Candidates must have a post basic qualification and a certificate in methodology for nurses as approved by NBM. Candidates should have a minimum of five years clinical working experience.
- Restorative Dentistry
- Oral Medicine
- Oral Microbiology / Oral Biology
- Paediatric Dentistry / Paedodontics
- Oral Radiology
Candidates are expected to have a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) or equivalent dental degree and have higher academic qualification such as Master’s or PhD. Candidates whose basic dental degree is not in the accredited list of Malaysian Dental Council (MDC) will need to have at least 5 years of relevant research and teaching experience after receiving their postgraduate qualifications.
Clinical specialists should have a professional qualification such as FDS from Royal College of Surgeons in United Kingdom or Australia or other recognized clinical qualification in their respective fields (registerable with MDC) and possess relevant research and teaching experience.
- Pharmacy Practice
Candidates are expected to have a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree or equivalent from recognized institutions by Malaysian Pharmacy Board and have further academic qualification such as Master’s and/or PhD in an area relevant to Pharmacy Practice/Clinical Pharmacy. Pharmacist registered with the Malaysian Pharmacy Board are advantage, and Pharmacist registered and trained in United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand are welcome to apply.
We seek lecturer with interest in research in the field of health profession education. The incumbent works closely with faculty, inspiring and supporting deeper understanding of teaching and learning for faculty development and in post graduate programmes in health professions education.
The successful candidate must be able to engage and empower faculty and staff and leaders at the campus to advance our collective effort and to ensure a positive working environment. The incumbent will work with the schools in IMU to provide quality assurance, teaching and learning enhancement, assessment and evaluation in the university. Essential skills include teamwork, creative problem solving and the ability to work within the university’s systems.
The successful candidate needs to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in medicine, dentistry, nursing, psychology, human biology, nutrition, pharmacy or any medical health or social related major.
- Postgraduate Diploma, Master or PhD degree in Health Professions Education OR experience in teaching postgraduate health professions education, with documented effectiveness as teacher and/or mentor.
- Research experience in health profession education.
