ABOUT TEACHING METHODOLOGY

The six-month Post Basic Certificate in Teaching Methodology is designed for registered nurses. The programme aims to develop competencies central to teaching and learning in the learners.

Incorporating core subjects such as curriculum development, learning theories, evaluation frameworks and assessment tools; the programme aims to develop core teaching skills in learners. In addition, developing competencies in microteaching skills, the process involved in developing teaching plans, performing content and task analysis will equip would-be educators with the necessary knowledge, skills and attitude to become responsible, effective teachers.

Reflective learning, guided reading and interactive approaches promote greater autonomy and accountability, and will lead to positive learning experiences; while meeting the needs of the adult learners.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

MALAYSIAN STUDENTS
  • Possess a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • Registered with Nursing Board Malaysia
  • Possess current Annual Practicing Certificate
  • Minimum 2 years working experience as a general nurse
  • At least 3 months working experience in related field

– Application fee is payable upon submission of application.
– Registration fee and refundable caution deposit is payable upon acceptance of the offer letter issued by the IMU Admissions Office.
– Students must adhere to the “Policy on Payment of Fees”.
– All students are required to pay Student Association Fees of RM40 per semester.

* Fees before bursary is RM 10,000.
