The IMU welcomes international students. Currently there are students from Singapore, Myanmar, Lebanon, Jordan, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, India, China, Taiwan, Thailand, Maldives, Kenya and Mauritius studying in the IMU. About 5% of each intake every year are international students. Their diversity adds perspective to class discussions and multi-cultural opportunities to campus life.

The IMU maintains an atmosphere where the faculty and students take the processes of teaching and learning seriously. As a result, the IMU has established a prestigious reputation as a private medical university in Malaysia.

The IMU medical, pharmacy and nursing faculty are active in research and publications. Many are doctors, pharmacists and consultants to the industry, hospitals, medical associations, active in Ministry of Health, Malaysia and education. The students can expect close interactions with the faculty in a variety of excellent academic and research opportunities.

Applying to Admission
Academic Requirements
To be considered for admission to the IMU, international students must have obtained pre-university qualifications with three science subjects. Please check the IMU entry requirements for details.

For international students applying on forecast grades, they must ensure that the actual results is released at least one month prior to registration. This is to ensure that there is sufficient time given to the student for the application of the student pass.

Therefore, international applicants with A-level forecast would not be eligible to apply for the Medicine - August intake.


Transcripts and Official Records
The IMU requires records from all secondary schools attended, showing subjects taken and grades received as well as any national or government certificates earned. Documents of all college or university coursework must also be sent in the original language, along with English translations.
