Student Pass
All international students joining IMU must apply for a Student Pass via IMU. It is a requirement of the Malaysian Immigration Department that the receiving institution (IMU) is responsible for processing the Student Pass. Students will have to pay a Personal Bond and the Student Pass processing fee. The Personal Bond is refundable when the students have completed his/ her studies at IMU.

If the student also requires a visa to leave his/her home, please contact the Malaysian Embassy/consulate nearest to the home country. Please note that approximately 3 months is required for the processing of the Student Pass.

The student must submit the following documents to IMU for processing of the Student Pass:

  • 3 pieces of current passport size photographs
  • 3 sets of the photocopied passport and certified true copies (front to back page of the passport)
  • The passport must be valid for another year at the time of application
  • An offer letter from IMU and payment of Semester 1 tuition fees.
  • Payment of between USD50 to USD500 (Personal Bond - refundable), depending on the country he/she comes from.
