Malaysian
- Aged 45 and below
- Must have SPM with 3 credits
- NHEF does not sponsor students for the same level of studies twice
- Students who have received NHEF loan through previous colleges/universities but failed or have not completed their course, are required to terminate the contract and make full repayment at the NHEF before new application can be made
- Is presently not sponsored by any Government agency such as MARA or JPA

- Application forms can be purchased from the Cashier Office, IMU or the NHEF office at RM5
- Submission of application must be through the Student Affairs, IMU only

- Bumiputra status only i.e both parents are bumiputra (e.g Malay, Kadazan, Iban) or either mother or father is holding bumiputra status. Birth certificate of parents and students must be enclosed for application
- Unregistered student who received letter of offer from IMU can also apply
- Under the SPC scheme, parents taxable income:
• <RM250k per annum: full sponsorship
• RM250,001 to RM500k per annum: partial sponsorship (without living allowance)
• >RM500k: not eligible

- Possess excellent academic records at pre-u level
- Excelled in ECA and possess leadership qualities
- Be below 25 years of age
- Not a degree holder
- Not a student who are currently enrolled in or offered a medicine, pharmacy or dentistry courses in Malaysian public universities
- Not a registered student of IMU
- Combined parental income must not exceed RM50k annually

- Full tuition fees and living allowance of RM10k per year. Where hostel accommodation is provided by IMU or University of Strathclyde, living allowance will be RM8,000

- Advertisements will be placed in all major newspapers in March / April inviting candidates to send in an application.

| Procedure for Application |
- Application forms and instructions will be placed on the IMU main website. (www.imu.edu.my)
- Candidates are required to send in completed application forms with academic, financial and ECA information attached. Other documents such as Hepatitis B status and a confidential report from previous education institution will also be required.

| Selection Process |
- Potential candidates for the scholarship will be short listed for interview.
- The IMU Scholarship Selection Committee will conduct interviews
- The final decision on the Scholarship Selection Committee will be made known at least 15 days prior to the commencement of the semester.
- The successful applicant must reply in writing on acceptance or rejection of the offer of the scholarship one week before commencement of the semester

- Living allowance will be paid through the student’s bank account semesterly

| Repayment |
- If student fails to complete the course, he/she is required to refund all monies expended by IMU under the scholarship (“Refund”) + 20% of Refund
|

- MBBS - 7 years Immediately upon completion of Housemanship
- Pharmacy - 6 years Immediately upon completion of Pupilage or Compulsory Government Service
- Nursing - 4 years Immediately upon completion of degree course
