Visithra Manikam
Visithra Manikam

Visithra Manikam is a self-taught emerging Malaysian female painter and photographer from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Her art is influenced by Indian art styles (Mahbubani/ Patachitra) and has a pop art/ pop surrealism/ big eye art favour to it. Some of her work has a social message and brings forth issues she strongly supports. Her social art recently received the highly commended in the 2019 Redline Artworks Global Award. Her Anti-racism Reimagined Human Series has won her a few awards.

Her artwork has also been published worldwide in different global artistic publications including Chachalaca Review (Texas), (Prachya Review (Bangladesh), The Brown Orient (USA), Follow the Halo (Middle East).

Zee Tan Zhi Wang

Zee Tan Zhi Wang (Z.Wang), 25, is a self-taught fashion designer and an artist who is extremely passionate about art and fashion. Since a very young age, Z.Wang loves to create things that tells his story. He has a strong belief about finding perfection in any imperfections and what is thought to be not beautiful in life can actually be really beautiful as long as somebody is willing to put in the effort to nurture it. With the ability and flair, Z.Wang has never gave up exploring in making art in many various forms and is still trying to break the barriers by creating works that will inspire, motivate and encourage.

Shia Lynn Victor

As a passionate creative advocate, Shia Lynn Victor has been actively involved in the arts & crafts scene for more than 15 years and has dedicated her life’s work to exploring art, creativity and self-healing for personal growth. Shia Lynn is an Intuitive Artist & Therapeutic Art Life Coach, and the Founder of The Artsy Craftsy @theartsycraftsy, a Malaysian creativity platform since 2008. She also co-founded Craft Affair Malaysia @craftaffairmy, a curated artisanal handmade event. Although it has been more than 15 years since Shia Lynn’s active involvement in the creative arts and crafts industry, she still finds joy in uplifting numerous local creatives through her mentorship.

Zanita Anuar
Zanita Anuar

Returning from the United States with a B.A in Cultural Anthropology and an M.A in Material Culture Studies from the University of Pennsylvania, Zanita Anuar began her career in 1992 as a lecturer in Art History, Anthropology and Sociology at the Inti College and later in Lim Kok Wing Institute of Creative Technology. Today, she holds over twenty years of experience in curatorial work in public and private museums and galleries as well as public and private institutions, both locally and abroad. She has also served as a jury in state galleries in Penang, Johor, and Selangor in their art competitions. At present, she is holding the position of the Acting Deputy Director General of Operations at the National Art Gallery.

Judges (English Language)

Dr Jeslyn Sharnita Amarasekera
Dr Jeslyn Sharnita Amarasekera

Dr Jeslyn Sharnita Amarasekera is Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader at the Department of English Studies, Faculty of Social Science and Humanities, Tunku Abdul Rahman University College, Kuala Lumpur.  She completed her PhD in Postcolonial Literature in English at the National University of Malaysia (UKM) and her Master of World Literature at Universiti Putra Malaysia. She is passionate about literature and believes that teaching is her calling. Her main research interest is in transnational Asian literature in English, with reference to individual identity and ethnic diversity. Her book, Sinhalese Perspectives in Transnational Sri Lankan Literature was published in 2018.

Dr Sheena Baharudin
Dr Sheena Baharudin

Sheena Baharudin is a poet-educator, multidisciplinary artist, and author of two bilingual poetry collections, Rhymes for Mending Hearts (2013) and All the Bodies We’ve Embraced (2017). She has participated in both solo and ensemble performances at various events including Urbanscapes, Iskarnival Festival, Melaka Arts Festival, ZafigoX, Georgetown Literary Festival, Singapore’s Lit Up Festival and London’s National Poetry Library. Her works have been translated into Spanish and French, and featured in multiple local and international poetry anthologies. Her most recent project was a creative collaboration with fellow poet-educator Elaine Foster, Anthony Chong (Malaysian Deaf Educator), and Ana Jonessy (Malaysian Sign Language translator), which later culminated in ‘Walls’: a poem film that blends together Bahasa Isyarat Malaysia, English and audio-visual poetry. She is currently Assistant Professor in Literature at the University of Nottingham Malaysia, where she teaches literature and creative writing to curious and bright-eyed souls.

Mohd Senu bin Awang
Mohd Senu bin Awang

Mohd Senu bin Awang, adalah seorang pensyarah senior dan ketua di Institute for Language Advancement (IfLA). Beliau telah mula berkhidmat di Centre for Languages and Pre-University Academic Development (CELPAD) International Islamic University Malaysia sejak tahun 1998. Beliau mempunyai pengalaman selama 23 tahun dalam mengajar kursus Bahasa Melayu Kerjaya di CELPAD, IIUM. Beliau juga memiliki Ijazah Sarjana Pendidikan dalam bidang Pentadbiran Pendidikan dari Universiti Putra Malaysia. Bidang kepakaran beliau adalah dalam Pendidikan Keusahawanan dan Komunikasi. Beliau sangat meminati bidang kesusateraan Melayu, dan banyak terlibat dalam seminar, bengkel dan pertandingan Bahasa dan Kesusasteraan Melayu di seluruh pelusuk Malaysia.

Nor Adlyizan bin Theis

Nor Adlyizan bin Theis adalah seorang pensyarah Bahasa Melayu di Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM). Beliau mula berkhidmat di USIM sekitar tahun 2016 dan mempunyai pengalaman dalam bidang Kesusateraan Melayu sebagai penulis puisi dan cerpen. Di samping itu, beliau juga telah menerbitkan beberapa buah buku puisi dan cerpen bersama penulis-penulis lain. Beliau juga aktif dalam pertandingan pantun antara institusi dan pernah bertindak sebagai juri dan jurulatih.
