Dr Sophia Rasheeqa is a Public Health Specialist at the Cardiovascular Unit, Institute for Medical Research (IMR), Malaysia. Trained in medicine and public health (IMU, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, Universiti Malaya, UKM), her work focuses on translating population health data into actionable strategies for health systems. She plays a central role in coordinating multi-centre national studies, including MAVERIK and MyGenom, where she leads programme operations, stakeholder engagement, and cross-institutional collaboration. With a research interest in cardiovascular epidemiology, she is involved in ongoing efforts to advance the implementation of precision medicine in Malaysia, including contributing to the development of the National Precision Medicine Implementation Strategy Roadmap. Her work is focused on bridging data, policy, and service delivery to support more scalable and equitable approaches to precision health.
