Professor Dato’ Dr Ahmad Faizal Mohd Perdaus is the President of MERCY Malaysia and a Consultant Pulmonologist at KPJ Damansara Specialist Hospital, with over 30 years of experience in medicine, humanitarian response, and global health leadership. He has led MERCY Malaysia’s expansion across more than 30 countries and served in key international roles, including Chair of the International Council of Voluntary Agencies, representing global NGOs at the United Nations Inter-Agency Standing Committee.

At the national level, he played a significant role in Malaysia’s COVID-19 response through advisory and coordination roles with NADMA and government taskforces, while continuing frontline clinical care. He also contributes to healthcare reform, particularly in financing and system strengthening. He is a strong advocate for integrated, sustainable health systems through the One Health approach, promoting collaboration across academia, industry, and communities. His work spans disaster response, policy development, and capacity building in humanitarian and health contexts globally.
