IMU Student Club & Societies
The International Medical University (IMU) supports an atmosphere where students can openly share ideas, interests, and concerns. Through involvement with co-curricular activities and attendance at programs organized by student groups, students can develop their skills, knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors in regards to ethics, communications, management, vision and aesthetics, as well as find opportunities to confront and discuss ideas that may be new to them. Involvement in co-curricular activities plays an important and complementary role to learning in the classroom and the University strongly supports student creation of and involvement in organizations.
As such, Student Services Department is responsible department for all extracurricular activities organized or participates by IMU students. Most of students’ participation in extra curriculum activities is through club or student societies. All clubs and societies are divided into three different divisions which are:
We have 22 Sports Clubs ranging all the way from the Board Games Club to the Dodgeball Club. Throughout the year, expect to hear about competitions such as the Futsal Tournament and Chess Competitions. You can even join the weekly practice sessions in whatever sports that interest you. There are also various intervarsity sports competitions year-round that you may participate in, such as the Medics InterVarsity Games better known as MIVG, which encompass many sports such as track and field, volleyball, badminton, and frisbee.
Our inter-house sports competition, better known as IMU Cup, is a much-anticipated and hotly competed annual event. Once enrolled, you will be assigned to one of six different houses. Throughout the year, be prepared, as houses will compete and engage with each other through a wide variety of competitions, ranging from intellectual stimulation like scrabble and debate to physical ventures such as football and badminton. Each house will receive points from their respective winnings and the house with the highest points will be declared the winner and receives a trophy as well as the prestige of being IMU Cup Champions.

You can brush up on public speaking and debating skills, experience a simulation of a Model United Nations conference or join the Drama club’s many productions to pursue your passion in the arts. Feel like giving back? The Community Service Club organises many outreach programs to give you a chance to make a difference in the lives of the marginalised.

Cultural & Religious Clubs
Do you know that we have 11 Cultural and Religious clubs including seven cultural and four religious clubs?
Here in IMU, we learn about and embrace each other’s cultural differences because this is what makes us unique. Each year, Merdeka Week and International Day would be our signature events to provide opportunities for people of all cultures and religious backgrounds to celebrate, unite, and be more understanding of each other. You can immerse yourself in the vibrant cultural diversity by enjoying the performances, food, sharing sessions, and other exciting activities.
The different clubs also host events for their own unique festivals such as Diwali, Holi festival, Chinese Cultural week, Malay Cultural week, and many more.

Good food, good music, and great company are what IMU Ball is all about. Organised by students for students, it is a night to celebrate all the precious memories made as an IMU student throughout the year and welcome what the future holds.ophy.
The six sport houses of IMU compete against each other in various competitions in this annual competition, held between September and November each year. These competitions range from intellectual stimulation to physical activities in a series of over 30 sport competitions. The winners will receive points and the house with the highest points will earn the IMU Cup trophy.
IMU Chariofare originated from the idea of running for a cause and aims to raise funds to support the university’s charity partners, so they can focus on what they do best – serving and caring for the less fortunate. IMU has organised a series of community-directed activities under the banner of “IMU Cares” since 2001.
After so many years, IMU Chariofare remains the biggest and longest-running flagship project in IMU with the carnival and run being one of the highlights for staff’s and students’ experience in IMU each year.

Goodwill game is held in April annually with the aims of promoting sportsmanship and fostering closer ties between IMU staff and medical students. Various activities are held, ranging from physical activities to online gaming. The event serves to bridge the gap between medical students and lecturers, and in the meantime, helps all involved build up a balanced lifestyle.
