Goran Stevanovski, MD, MA, is a medical doctor and education specialist with a strong focus on health systems and workforce development. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, North Macedonia, and later completed a Master of Arts in Educational Sciences, specializing in Biomedical Education and Bioethics, at The Ohio State University as a Fulbright Scholar. His academic path has included international research in public health and medical professionalism, as well as extensive teaching experience in medical education.
Goran’s work with the World Health Organization in North Macedonia has centered on strengthening human resources for health (HRH). As a National Professional Officer, he has led key initiatives to improve health workforce planning, support nursing education and regulation, and build institutional capacities within the Ministry of Health. His role has included contributing to legislative reforms, developing strategic HRH frameworks, and guiding national efforts to address challenges related to workforce ageing and sustainability. His earlier role as a National Expert on Stewardship and Governance further strengthened his focus on improving leadership and accountability across the health system.
In addition, Goran serves as a Medical Education Consultant with Lecturio, a global education platform. His work focuses on supporting international medical schools in advancing clinical reasoning and educational effectiveness. As part of Lecturio’s Learning Science Team, he contributes to the development of educational content and webinars aimed at improving the quality of teaching in health professions education worldwide.
