A surgeon by training Professor Idrees has held the positions of Head of surgery and He has retired as Pro Vice Chancellor from RMU. Professor Dr. Idrees Anwar is the Dean at HBS Institute of Health Sciences and has held significant positions in medical education, such as Head of Surgery at Rawalpindi Medical University, Pakistan.

He has dedicated his life to the education of undergraduate and postgraduate doctors. He is visiting faculty at the MME program at University of Lahore and several program through out the country in both medical education and surgery.He has contributed to the field with multiple research publications and has been cited over 871 times in academic works Dr. Anwar has also authored a book titled 'The Muslim Doctor,' which showcases his perspectives on medical practice.
