Khabab Abdelmoneim Elsaid Elhag (Bahrain)

Khabab Elhag is a highly accomplished Quality and Accreditation Expert, Lead Auditor, and Lecturer with over a decade of experience in quality management, accreditation, and healthcare education. Currently serving as the Head of the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Unit at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences (CMHS) at Arabian Gulf University in Bahrain, Dr Elhag oversees the development, implementation, and monitoring of quality assurance processes, ensuring compliance with national and international accreditation standards, including those set by the World Federation of Medical Education (WFME). He also serves as a Quality Unit Supervisor at the university level, where he promotes a culture of continuous improvement and institutional excellence.

Dr Elhag holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Health Professions Education from Keele University, UK, Health Professions Education (MHPE), and a master’s in Medical Laboratory Science (MLS MSc). He has extensive experience in leading quality improvement initiatives, conducting audits, and developing robust quality management systems (QMS) in both academic and healthcare settings. His expertise spans across ISO standards, including ISO 9001 and ISO 21001, and he is a certified QMS Lead Auditor.

In addition to his academic roles, Dr Elhag has served as a Quality and Governance Consultant at the Libyan International Medical University (LIMU), where he led accreditation efforts and developed quality improvement plans for undergraduate and postgraduate programs. He has also held leadership positions at various institutions, including Nile University and the Sudan Medical Specialization Board, where he contributed to curriculum development, and faculty training.

Dr Elhag is a prolific researcher and has presented at numerous international conferences, including the World Federation of Medical Education (WFME) and the International Conference on Medical Education. His research focuses on quality improvement, accreditation, and healthcare education. He is committed to advancing quality standards in education and healthcare through continuous improvement and strategic planning.
