Dr Kiren Habib is a Consultant Physician in the Section of Infectious Diseases, Department of Medicine at Aga Khan University. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, she plays a key role in medical education, teaching both undergraduate medical students and postgraduate trainees, including interns, residents, and fellows. Her teaching portfolio encompasses didactic lectures, bedside clinical instruction, and clinical skills training.

For over a decade, she has served as the Clinical Coordinator for the Year-5 Medicine Rotation, where she manages educational administration tasks such as scheduling, assessment development, exam result analysis, simulated patient training, student orientation, feedback sessions, and evaluation review. She was also appointed Co-Chair of the Year-5 Sub-Curriculum Committee, contributing to key curriculum reform initiatives, including content mapping and the development of a COVID-19 teaching module—recognized with a Collaborative Teaching Award. Additionally, she co-developed the Year-5 Clinical Skills Simulation Course.

With a strong commitment to clinician education, she emphasizes the development of critical thinking, communication, history-taking, and clinical examination skills—essential traits for competent medical professionals. To remain aligned with evolving educational needs, she has completed multiple faculty development programs, including workshops on Effective Feedback, Exam Blueprinting and EMQ Construction, and a Short Course in Health Professions Education.

As an Infectious Disease specialist, she advocates for infection prevention and antibiotic stewardship. She has led numerous infection control training workshops at Aga Khan University and in both public and private hospitals across Pakistan. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she was appointed a Master Trainer for infection control for healthcare professionals.

She is actively involved in CME sessions, webinars, and public health workshops, serving as a facilitator and course director both within her institution and in broader national forums, furthering her impact as both a clinician and an educator.
