Dr Malanashita Ganeson is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Family Medicine and the Pro-gramme Director for the MBBS programme at IMU University, Malaysia. She is also a practicing Fam-ily Medicine Specialist at Klinik Kesihatan Nilai, where she integrates clinical expertise with medical education.
Dr Malanashita obtained her MBBS in 2005 from IMU University and was made a Fellow of the Roy-al Australian College of General Practitioners in 2015. While remaining active in clinical practise, she began her teaching career as a part-time academic staff in 2014 before transitioning to a full-time lecturer role in 2019. She has previously served as the Assessment Coordinator at IMU, demon-strating her expertise in curriculum design, student evaluation, and assessment methods.
Her research interests include chronic diseases, interprofessional education, workplace-based as-sessments, and the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in medical education and clinical practice. She is particularly focused on how AI can enhance medical training. She also actively con-tributes to interprofessional education initiatives, promoting collaborative learning among healthcare professionals to improve patient care and medical training.
Dr Malanashita has been recognized for her contributions to medical education with several prestigious awards, including the Gold Medal at the 2022 IMU Learning Resources Festival and the Best Presentation Award at the 14th International Medical Education Conference in 2021. She was also the recipient of the esteemed Past President Dr Frank Tan's Best Student Award from the Academy of Family Physicians Malaysia in 2014.
