Professor Dr. Mohammad Iqbal Khan is the Vice Chancellor of Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University (STMU) in Islamabad, Pakistan. A medical graduate from 1985, he holds fellowships in surgery from the Royal Colleges of Surgeons of England and Glasgow, a Diploma in Vascular Surgery from the UK, and a master's in health professional education from the Netherlands. Throughout his career, Dr. Khan has held numerous academic and clinical leadership positions both nationally and internationally. He served as the Dean of the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJ&K) and was the founding Principal of AJ&K Medical College in Muzaffarabad. Additionally, he has been associated with Riphah International University as the Head of Surgery and Clinical Sciences and has held various roles within the UK's National Health Services. Dr. Khan also chaired the Consortium of Islamic Medical Colleges for eight years and continues to serve as an executive member. As a distinguished surgeon and educator, Dr. Khan has extensive teaching experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He has presented over 230 papers at national and international conferences, authored 69 research publications, contributed 14 book chapters, and written six books. In his role at STMU, Dr. Khan is committed to fostering an environment that promotes excellence in education, research, and healthcare services. He emphasizes the importance of integrating modern medical practices with ethical values to produce competent healthcare professionals. Beyond his administrative duties, Dr. Khan serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University (JSTMU), contributing to the advancement of medical knowledge and research within the academic community.
