Welcome to the 30 th Scientific Meeting of the South East Asia Association for Dental Education (SEAADE). Over the years that SEAADE has been in existence, we have seen myriads of social, technological and epidemiological changes. In many countries, the aging population is growing, and as people live longer the demand for oral healthcare increases. The care they need also become more complex, not least because of the compromise to general health associated with aging. At the same time, the expectations of the public for better quality care are increasing, fueled by access to information on health and healthcare, as well as the burgeoning of middle class across our region. What are the implications of these changes for dental education? What are our responsibilities as educators to ensure that our graduates are fit for purpose? At this, the 30 th Scientific Meeting, I invite you to reimagine a dental curriculum that will prepare our graduates for the challenges of the future. This is an opportunity for networking with your fellow educators, our industry partners, and our students; to share your ideas, your views and your good practices. This is a platform for you to reimagine how you might deliver your curriculum. With the rapid advent of technology, the opportunities for innovative pedagogies are boundless. Reimagination of dental education may seem like a fantastical endeavor, but you must see this as a necessity as we prepare for a generation of learners that have expectations shaped by access to information and technology that we had not imagine possible. I therefore urge you to take advantage of this opportunity. Let’s reimagine together the future of dental education and the future of our profession.
