IMU adds Queen Mary, University of London to its list of Partner Medical Schools

20 March 2013International Medical University (IMU) is pleased to announce that  Queen Mary, University of London have signed a Memorandum of Agreement with IMU for Queen Mary, University of London to be one of its Partner Medical School.  The signing was conducted between IMU Provost, Dr Mei Ling Young and the Principal of Queen Mary University of London, Prof Simon Gaskell. Under the terms of the agreement,  the first year of transfer will be in 2015. Students will undertake the first 2.5 years study at IMU and then progress to a three (3) year clinical course at BARTS (BARTS is a part of Queen Mary, University of London).  On completion, students will receive a University of London/Queen Mary degree award of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery.  Total duration of programme is 5.5 years. BARTS and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry is the medical and dental school of Queen Mary, University of London. The school was formed by the merger of the London Hospital Medical College and the Medical College of St Bartholomew’s Hospital and Queen Mary and Westfield College. The medical school is part of Queen Mary, University of London, a constituent college of the federal University of London, and a member of the United Hospitals.  The University of London is a federal public university and comprises 18 constituent colleges, 10 research institutes and a number of central bodies. The constituent colleges operate as individual universities and some have recently obtained the power to award their own degrees whilst remaining in the federation.
