IMU Cares: IMU Foundation in Science Students Brings Joy to 107 Children

31 Mar 2014

Do you remember magical moments you had when you were a kid? These special occasions when your parents or grandparents took you out for a treat to a movie or an outing for the first time? I bet YOU can still recall your “Magic Moments” even now. On 22 March 2014, 40 International Medical University (IMU) Foundation in Science (FiS) students created “Magic Moments” for 107 young children from 6 different homes. These homes are Ti-Ratana, Precious Children Home, Philea Home, Kanak-Kanak Sayang, Dignity for Children and Taman Megah Disabled Home.  This is one of the initiatives under the IMU Cares programme at the University. Having a day out for all of these children is very high on their wish list.  On that memorable day, the children were treated to ‘The Lego Movie’ at TGV Sunway Pyramid. They were also treated with popcorn and soft drinks, courtesy of TGV Cinemas. After the movie, the children were treated to lunch at the function hall of TGV. For lunch, they had the all-time children’s favourite of McDonald’s Happy Meal, with a toy packed in, a take-home token to end this very special day! Throughout the entire outing, the 40 FiS students took care and played with these children.
