Overview

The Dean, School of Business and Technology plays a critical role in setting up the School, shaping the academic curriculum and maintaining the School’s reputation and accreditation status. Overall, the Dean is responsible for overseeing the School’s operations, covering academics, research, innovation, infrastructure and community engagement. He/she will be the change champion in leading IMU’s first School of Business and Technology.  

Job Responsibilities

Academic Leadership

• Provide visionary leadership to advance the school's academic mission and strategic goals.
• Develop and implement academic programs and curricula in line with industry trends and accreditation standards.
• Foster a culture of academic excellence, research, and innovation within the school.

Faculty Management

• Recruit, hire, and retain qualified faculty members.
• Support faculty development and evaluation.
• Facilitate academic collaboration and research initiatives among faculty members and partner schools.

Student Affairs

• Oversee student recruitment and admissions processes.
• Ensure a supportive and inclusive learning environment for a great student experience.
• Address academic and disciplinary issues as they arise.

Budget and Resource Management

• Develop and manage the school's budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility.
• Allocate resources effectively to support teaching, research, and administrative needs.
• Seek external funding and grants to support academic initiatives.
• Responsible for the P&L of the School to remain sustainable and profitable.

Accreditation and Quality Assurance

• Ensure that academic programs meet MQA accreditation standards and quality benchmarks as well as partner schools’ requirements.
• Lead efforts to maintain and enhance the accreditation status of the school.
• Monitor and improve academic programme outcomes and assessments.

Curriculum Development and Enhancement

• Review and update academic programmes within the School to align with industry needs and emerging trends.
• Foster innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration in curriculum development.
• Integrate technology and online learning into academic offerings.

Industry Partnerships

• Establish and maintain partnerships with industry organisations, businesses, and alumni.
• Facilitate internships and job placement opportunities for students.
• Promote research collaborations and knowledge exchange with industry and partner schools.

Outreach and Marketing

• Represent the school within the university and external stakeholders.
• Develop marketing strategies to promote the school's programmes and achievements.
• Engage with alumni and build a strong alumni network.
• Responsible for student numbers as set by the Management.

Strategic Planning

• Participate in university-level strategic planning and decision-making processes.
• Define and execute the school's strategic plan, goals, and objectives to meet the University’s overall objectives.

Governance and Policy

• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements from the MOHE, MQA, and the university’s policies and regulations.
• Collaborate with other academic units and university administration on cross-functional initiatives.
• Handle administrative matters, such as faculty evaluations, promotions, and tenure decisions.

Teaching, Research and Scholarship

• Teach and deliver courses in undergraduate, post graduate and professional development programmes
• Promote and support faculty research, scholarship, and publication activities.
• Foster a culture of research and innovation within the school.

 

Job Requirements

• A terminal degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in business-related disciplines.
• Significant academic and administrative leadership experience, ideally in a university setting.
• Proven record of teaching and research excellence.
• Proven record of programme development, assessment, and accreditation.
• Experience in setting-up or growing a business school would be preferred.

IMU Centre for Education

Responsibilities

• Take a leadership role in developing the school’s strategic and operational planning so as to achieve strategic direction and goals.
• Responsible to facilitate learning and carry out research activities in the IMU. Teach academic subjects to undergraduate and postgraduate students. Teaching methods include lectures, seminars, tutorials, problem solving learning, practical laboratory demonstrations, field work and e-learning. Multimedia technologies are increasingly used.
• Provide strong and committed leadership in teaching and curriculum development.
• Play a significant role in research projects including providing leadership to research teams. Encouraged to pursue own areas of research and develop these in order to contribute to the wider research activities of the department.
• Involved in academic management work. This includes coordination work, eg module, semester, etc. Take on a pastoral role to mentor and guide students.
• Organise academic meetings eg. seminar, workshop and conference. Conduct faculty development activities.

Requirements

• A Ph.D. in Health Professions Education or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Extensive experience as a tenured Professor or similar academic position, demonstrating a strong record of teaching, research, and publications.
• Expertise in specific areas of HPE, with a comprehensive understanding of current theories, methodologies, and empirical research in the field.

Responsible for teaching Pre-University Arts and Business modules to students at IMU. Encouraged to pursue own areas of research and develop these in order to contribute to the broader research activities of the department. Involved in academic management work as and when required by the Director of the Centre of Pre-University Studies in conjunction with the Programme Director. This includes coordination work, e.g., module coordinator etc. and will also have a pastoral role to mentor and guide students.

Overview

The Clinical Manager, Psychology and Counselling Learning Centre (PCLC) is expected to provide leadership and management to ensure the successful delivery of professional counselling and mental health services for the public.

Qualifications

• Master’s in Counselling (licensed and registered with the Malaysian Board of Counsellors) or Master of Clinical Psychology (registered with Allied Health Professions Council / Malaysian Society of Clinical Psychology)
• Minimum of 3 years of counselling/clinical experience
• Ability to conduct psychological testing is preferred
• Possess leadership skills, interpersonal skills and sense of responsibility
• Ability to communicate in more than 1 language (in addition to English) is an advantage

Job Functions and Responsibilities

• Management of counselling and psychological services at PCLC.
• Supervise PCLC’s operations and administrative processes.
• Provide professional psychological and/or counselling services to clients at PCLC, as and when required.
• Provide onsite supervision and management of counselling/clinical psychology trainees at PCLC, as and when necessary.
• Lead, organize and implement community projects/workshops, outreach work, group work, where relevant.
• Promote best practices in mental health by working in collaboration and liaising with the trainees, faculty and administrative departments of the University.
• Oversee communication and promotion of students’ psychological wellbeing services through the website, social media and published material.
• Oversee the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date records of all functions of PCLC, in liaising with the practicum and internship coordinators of the Master of Counselling (MOC) and Master of Clinical Psychology (MCP) programmes.
• Oversee the compilation, analysis and reporting of data in respect of all functions of PCLC.
• Prepare the annual budget, annual statistical report and annual strategic plan in line with the direction of the Department/School/University.

Summary

Required Qualifications

• Minimum master’s or postgraduate degree in related field, a PhD degree will be preferred. Candidates with academic experience in RCVS accredited universities in the related field will be an advantage.

• Bachelor’s degree alone will also be considered for selected roles in the program.

• MUST be a registered counsellor under Lembaga Kaunselor Malaysia (LKM).

Position: Senior Lecturer

The successful candidate is expected to have at least a postgraduate degree in in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning or related fields. Candidate must also have demonstrated expertise in both practice and scholarship in artificial intelligence and machine learning. Evidence of fundable research in the field of Data Science and demonstrated excellence in teaching are required for these positions. A strong industry network and experience in designing and building healthcare data analytics solutions will be an added advantage.

Candidates must specialise in any of the above disciplines. Candidates must have recognized basic and post-graduate degrees in the respective disciplines and with relevant working experience. Candidate should possess MBBS or equivalent qualification recognised by the Malaysian Medical Council and a post-graduate qualification recognized by National Specialist Register of Malaysia.

Candidates are expected to have an MBBS or its equivalent qualification (registerable with the Malaysian Medical Council) and an MPH with a Dr.PH /PhD. Candidates must also have an established record of research with evidence of publications and must possess relevant teaching experience. Working experience in Malaysia and specialisation in a specific public health specialty such as Environmental Health, Occupational Health and Health Management will be an added advantage.  

Candidates are expected to have MBBS or its equivalent qualification with a Master’s in Physiology or Anatomy.

Candidates are expected to have a professional degree in Chiropractic from a fully accredited CCE, CCEA, ECCE or CCEC programme and preferably a PG Diploma, Fellowship or a Master’s degree in related field such as Radiology, Neurology, Rehabilitation, Paediatric, etc. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of clinical and teaching experience and must be eligible for registration with the Malaysian Traditional and Complementary Medicine Council.

  Candidates are expected to have a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree or an equivalent dental degree that is in the accredited list of the Malaysian Dental Council (MDC) and a higher academic qualification such as a Master’s degree or equivalent qualification. Candidates whose basic dental degree is not in the accredited list of Malaysian Dental Council (MDC) will need to have at least 5 years of clinical experience including relevant research and teaching experience after receiving their postgraduate qualifications. Candidates with a PhD or a professional qualification such as the FDS from a Royal College of Surgeons in the United Kingdom or Australia or other recognised clinical qualification in their respective fields are preferred.

Candidates must graduate from Bachelor of TCM, hold a postgraduate qualification (Master’s and/or PhD)in TCM. Candidates should have experience in teaching, clinical practice and/or research. Candidates should be able to communicate in both Chinese and English.
