Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate learning and engage in research activities to contribute to the academic excellence of IMU.
  • Deliver lectures, seminars, tutorials, and other teaching methods to undergraduate and postgraduate students. This includes incorporating problem-based learning, practical laboratory demonstrations, fieldwork, and e-learning techniques, with a growing emphasis on multimedia technologies.
  • Participate in academic management tasks as assigned by the Head of Department.
  • Pursue individual research interests and contribute to the broader research objectives of the department.

Role Purpose

The Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, School of Pharmacy at IMU University invites applications for a Lecturer position. The successful candidate will be a dynamic and innovative academic who will contribute significantly to the School’s teaching, research, and service mission.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and learning experiences, including curriculum development and assessment.
  • Conduct independent research leading to publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
  • Secure external research funding to support research activities.
  • Supervise graduate and undergraduate research projects.
  • Contribute to the academic administration of the School.
  • Foster collaborations with industry and other academic institutions.

 

Job Requirement

  • A Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Technology, or a closely related field.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Product Development or Cosmetic Science
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching, preferably in a higher education setting.
  • A strong record of research, as evidenced by publications in high-impact journals.
  • Experience in securing research grants and supervising research students.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in eLearning technologies is preferred.

Role Purpose

The successful candidate will join the School of Pharmacy in Pharmacy Practice and will contribute to the academic work of the School, including teaching and assessment; curriculum development; research; and academic administration. Candidates should have the following credentials:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy and PhD in Pharmacy Practice ​or Clinical Pharmacy.
  • At least 5 years’ experience of pharmacy practice in primary and/or secondary care.
  • A soundtrack record as an independent researcher; including supervision of graduate or undergraduate research and students; and publications in SCI journals
  •  

 

Though not mandatory, the following are advantages:

  • Clinical and​/or health economics research.
  • Pharmacist registration with the Pharmacy Board of Malaysia, or eligibility for such registration.
  • Registration in the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand.

Job Overview

Responsible to facilitate learning and carry out research activities in the IMU. Teach academic subjects to undergraduate and postgraduate students. Teaching methods include lectures, seminars, tutorials, problem solving learning, practical laboratory demonstrations, field work and e-learning. Multimedia technologies are increasingly used. Encouraged to pursue own areas of research and develop these in order to contribute to the wider research activities of the department. Involved in academic management work as and when required by the Head of Department. This includes coordination work, eg module, semester, etc. May take on a pastoral role to mentor and guide students.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment activities in line with current academic and industry practices.
  • Design and prepare teaching materials, lectures, tutorials, seminars, and practical sessions.
  • Assess and evaluate students’ coursework, assignments, and examinations.
  • Coordinate academic modules and support curriculum development initiatives.
  • Provide academic advising, mentorship, and pastoral support to students.
  • Undertake research activities, contribute to publications, and enhance the university’s research profile.
  • Supervise student research projects and academic activities.
  • Participate in Continuous Professional Development (CPD), staff training, and academic development activities.
  • Contribute to departmental administration, accreditation exercises, committees, university projects, and student-related activities.
  • Build and maintain collaborations with industry, professional bodies, and external organisations.
  • Represent IMU at academic, professional, and industry events where required.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Dean or Management.

 

Job Requirement

  • Possess a PhD in Biomedical Science or a relevant related field
  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science or a relevant qualification
  • Registered with the Malaysian Allied Health Professions Council (MAHPC)
  • Demonstrate a good track record in research and scholarly publications
  • Working experience in clinical laboratory would be an added advantage

  • Experience in medical education will be an added advantage
  • Track record of publications in indexed journals is preferred
