INFORMATION FOR PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS

IMU is fully committed to supporting its pre-university, undergraduate and postgraduate students. At the University, there are numerous offices and services to assist students in their academic pursuits and to maximise their success. Our team at Academic Services plays a role in this integral part of the university and provide administrative services which underpin the campus-based and ODL student life-cycle including management of student record, timetabling, examination, academic board meeting, assessment, and graduation for the student as well as all matters with regards to the University’s other academic services.

Examination & Student Registry Unit has the responsibility of scheduling, conducting of examination, issuance of results and transcripts for the students. We are here to support students by providing the services below, please contact us by email at [email protected].

Mata Pelajaran Umum (MPU)

Mata Pelajaran Umum (MPU) formerly known as Mata Pelajaran Wajib (MPW) is a qualification of general studies for undergraduate programmes offered in private universities in Malaysia. Those who undertake Masters or PhD will not be required to undertake MPU.

 

The Act 1996 (Act 555) provides MPU as compulsory subjects in every private higher education institutions. It requires all Malaysian and non-Malaysian students to complete the MPU as pre-requisite for the award of an undergraduate degree.

  • To promote nation building through consolidating and broadening knowledge about Malaysia.
  • To enhance the acquisition, mastery and applications of humanity and community management skills.

I would like to apply for a letter that indicates I am/was a student of IMU.

Please furnish the following information as required to process your request.

  • Full Name
  • Student ID
  • I/C No/Passport No (whichever applicable)
  • Transferred University (if applicable)
  • Transferred month and year
  • Item request (please indicate whichever applicable)
  • Verification letter  (Free of charge)
  • Photocopy and certification of certificate and transcript (RM10/set)

Can I make arrangement for the University to post the requested documents to the institution? If it is possible, will there be any charges imposed?

Yes, please be informed that there are 2 postage methods with the charges as follows:

  • Local address : RM20
  • International : RM110

How do I make the payment of my request?

What do I do next after making payment?

If you have made payment, email the payment statement to [email protected] and [email protected].

How long does it take for me to collect my certified/verification documents or for my documents to be posted?

The documents should be ready for collection THREE (3) working days after the day of request. However, the documents will only be released to requestor, if payment wherever necessary has been made.

 

For speedier processing, please provide all necessary information of your request at the same instance.

How examination will be conducted?

Due to the current situation with the COVID-19 pandemic, the university has decided to have examination in hybrid mode (in campus and remote online). Please contact Exams Officer at [email protected] for further information.

 

Please take note that International Medical University (IMU) may operate a different approach to online exams depending on the local circumstances and operations.

When will I be expected to sit for my exams?

The examination dates for End of Semester Examination will be reflected In the Academic Calendar and as for In-course Assessment it will be on your Teaching and Learning timetable.

How do I access my exam timetable?

The End-of-Semester examination timetable will be published through the E-Learning portal at http://elearn.imu.edu.my/ (login required).

How will I know when my exam results will be released?

The result release date will be captured in the examination timetable which will be posted in the E-Learning portal. Students will also be notified when results are released through the E-learning “News and Announcement” under your cohort.

How do I access my End-of-Semester examination results?

The End-of-Semester examination results will be published through the Student Portal at https://studentimuedu.sharepoint.com/ (login required).

Are the dates of my exams likely to change after they have been published?

YES. Whilst we make every effort not to amend details of an exam after the timetable has been published there are occasions where it is unavoidable.  IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO CHECK YOUR TIMETABLE REGULARLY FOR ANY AMENDMENTS.
