01 Jun 2018

“Have you experienced a toothache? Why do we have to go through the pain when dental caries is preventable? Let’s join in our effort and equip ourselves with proper dental knowledge, together, we can fight against enamel cruelty.”

19-20 April 2018 – The IMU Oral Health Week 2018 was carried out at the IMU Bukit Jalil campus, with each day of the event proving a success and living up to its expectations. This year’s theme was ‘Fighting Enamel Cruelty’, and as you all know, enamel is one of the most important aspects of a tooth. The main objective of this event was to instil oral health awareness within the IMU community as well as the wider community, to minimise the occurrence of oral health diseases, to promote the importance of regular dental visit and lastly, to improve quality of life. We were pleased to have had with us, during the event, Dr Nomah bt Taharim (Director of Oral Healthcare Division from the Ministry of Health), Prof Khoo Suan Phaik (Chairperson for the Malaysian Dental Association Speakers Bureau), A/Prof Mohd Zulkefeli bin Mat Jusoh (Dean of the School of Pharmacy), our very own Dean of the School of Dentistry, Prof Allan Pau Kah Heng and not forgetting to mention, the staff of IMU School of Dentistry. Several interesting and fun activities were carried out for both the days such as the face and tooth painting booth, educational and interactive booths which had various exciting games which piqued the interest of the participants. There were also multiple mesmerising performances by many talented students from IMU, and not forgetting the flash mob performed by our dental students.
