Assistant Manager, Oral Health Centre

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist the Manager in daily operation of Oral Health Centre (OHC) especially in overseeing the smooth running of undergraduate and postgraduate students’ clinical practices and Faculty Practices with adherence to Dental Advisory Board, other relevant legislation, IMU Healthcare Policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and codes of professional conduct in ensuring best practises in service provision and meeting Healthcare’s overall objectives.
  • Assist in coordinating effectively with Dental School’s faculty members who are practising under Faculty Practice and ensure optimum support for the faculty members during their practice at OHC for effective service.
  • Ensure a safe environment for students and faculty practices by ensuring all infection control and safety policies are always followed.
  • Maintain, update and safeguard patients’ data to ensure protection of patient’s rights and addressing patients’ needs efficiently and effectively.
  • Monitor and maintain all aspects of related to stocks/inventories and equipment used by students and faculty in OHC.
  • Ensure all dental chairs and equipment to be used by students and faculty are in good working order and collaborate with Biomedical Engineering unit and other relevant department/unit and infrastructure of OHC in order to ensure minimal to no time disruption of services in OHC.

Job Requirements

  • Possess Bachelor’s Degree in Dentistry/ Healthcare Management or related field.
  • Possess minimum 5 years relevant experience, preferably in Healthcare/Dentisty field.
  • Possess good communication and written skills.
  • Meticulous and able to work with minimum supervision.

Biomedical Engineer, Facilities Management & Administration

Job Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the safety, efficiency, effectiveness and maintain, repair and/or provide technical support for all biomedical equipment/medical devices based on statutory and safety requirements for Healthcare (including Hospital) and Education.
  • Train/Support/Monitor end-users on the proper use of equipment to optimize healthcare/service delivery.
  • To ensure all devices used in IMU are safe and compliance to Medical Device Act, MSQH and MOH guidelines.
  • Support procuring activities related to biomedical equipment/medical devices for Healthcare (including Hospital) and Education.

Job Requirements

  • Min. Diploma or Degree in Biomedical Engineering with 3-5 years’ working experience in Healthcare field (preferably Hospital).
  • Working knowledge of healthcare-related Acts, medical device regulations and accreditation standards related to Biomedical Engineering
  • Technical competencies: knowledgeable/technically competent in testing, commissioning and maintenance of biomedical equipment/medical devices;
  • Experience in research or academic work related to Biomedical Engineering is an added advantage.

Biomedical Manager

Job Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the safety, efficiency and effectiveness of, and maintain, repair and/or provide technical support for all biomedical equipment/medical devices based on statutory and safety requirements.
  • To coordinate on-going pre-installation & site preparation works requirements (including the interfacing timeline) between vendors and main contractor.
  • Developing, implementing and monitoring policies and standard operating procedures related to Biomedical Engineering, ensuring all licences/statutory requirements for relevant biomedical equipment/medical devices are in effect/met.
  • Ensure that all biomedical equipment/medical devices are safe for use. New equipment/device is received, calibrated and commissioned prior to installation and usage by the end-user.
  • Ensure the Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) is in place for all equipment/devices by working with finance to track all PPM contracts, repairs & maintenance.
  • Work closely with Healthcare procurement and project team to confirm specifications for the equipment/devices and assisting the Procurement Manager in obtaining financial quotations covering purchase, warranty and maintenance contracts.
  • Implementing clinical specialist application training or other relevant training for end-users/staff.
  • Conducting site visits to off-site location to manage the equipment/devices, where relevant.
  • Periodically conducting audits on utilization and effectiveness of the equipment/devices.
  • Developing strategic plans and effective budget for Biomedical Engineering, ensuring that the Biomedical Engineering is operating in a cost-effective manner through effective negotiation of contracts and other relevant means including cost containment activities without compromising quality.
  • Collaborate with IMU Education in the areas under Biomedical Engineering.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Biomedical/ Electronics/ Electrical/ Medical Electronics/ Instrumentation/ Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 5 years working experience in Biomedical Engineering in Healthcare environment.
  • At least 3 years of experience in supervisory role related to Biomedical Engineering.
  • Experience in research or academic work related to Biomedical Engineering is an added advantage.

Chinese Medicine Assistant

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist the Chinese Medicine Physicians in monitoring patients’ condition while treatment is taking place.
  • Promptly reports to the Chinese Medicine Physician the progress of patients or any adverse reactions to treatment.
  • Accurate packaging and dispensing of Chinese Medicine herbs to patients.
  • Ensure professional attitudes and conducts toward patients through kindness and empathy so as to meet or exceed patients’ expectations.
  • Accurate documentation of the treatment carried-out.
  • Proper handling of confidential information and records of patients.
  • Keeps work area clean, well-organized with sufficient items and consumables, and in safe condition at all time.
  • Assist in ensuring the Chinese Medicine herbs are stored following the regulatory requirement and are available at all time with up-to-date documentation/record.
  • Assist in ensuring the items and consumables such as acupuncture needles are available at all time.
  • Assist in running daily maintenance checking/calibration on equipment and herb packaging machine before clinic sessions begin.
  • Assist in keeping proper records of daily and periodic maintenance checking/calibration of equipment and relevant documents in relation to Chinese Medicine herbs.
  • Captures all charges for the treatment or sales of items accurately and timely.
  • Careful handling and preservation of apparatus and material to maintain cost effectiveness.
  • Participate in the in-house training and meet all requirements stated in the training objectives.

  • Minimum SPM, preferably with relevant working experience.

  • To manage adhoc breakdowns within the Hospital.

  • Providing training to newcomers and 3 rd party vendors.
  • Keeping account of the daily worker’s attendance under 3rd party vendors.
  • Keeping account of monies collected in the Auto Pay Machine (Hospital).
  • Keep track of workers performance and to measure it.

Job Requirements

  • Min. Diploma in Facilities Management with 3-5 years’ working experience in medical/healthcare or hospital.
  • Good communication & written skills in both English & Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Possess good time management skills.
  • Proactive in identifying future issues and troubleshooting.
