I am Tay Chia Pao, an IMU Pharmaceutical Chemistry alumna who was on cloud nine when I was awarded another prestigious honor, the IKM Chemistry Graduate Medal Award, in addition to the Tun Zahir Merit Award. This recognition was presented to me on 1 December 2023 by the Institut Kimia Malaysia (IKM) in a ceremony at One World Hotel, Petaling Jaya.
The journey to this moment has been marked by countless hours of hard work, dedication, and perseverance. Receiving this award is not just a recognition of my achievements, but also a reminder of the unwavering support of my parents, lecturers, mentors, and peers who have guided and inspired me along the way. Their belief in my potential has fueled my determination to succeed, and for that, I am eternally grateful.
Each milestone achieved; each hurdle overcome. Moving forward, I am committed to using this achievement as a motivation to continue pushing myself to explore new avenues (both personally and academically) and make a positive impact on the world.

About the Award
The IKM Chemistry Graduate Medal Award is given by IKM to students who demonstrate outstanding performance in Chemistry during their Final Year Examination. This annual award ceremony is organised by IKM.
