IMU Healthcare Promotes Healthy Lifestyle

9 June 2013 – In its bid to promote a Healthy Lifestyle to the public, IMU Healthcare organised a Jamboree which was held at its premises in Bukit Jalil. The half-day event was filled with many activities such as free dental screening, blood glucose monitoring, Chiropractic spine assessment, Chinese Medicine pulse reading and a sharing session on diabetes. These activities were designed to educate and build awareness on the need for better health management. A “Family & Friends Programme” was also introduced to nearby communities where visitors who sign up as a member will enjoy special benefits at IMU Healthcare. Health Checks (640x480) Together with Malaysia Blood Donor’s Society, IMU Healthcare also organised a blood donation campaign on the same day. This is in conjunction with World Blood Donor Day which is celebrated on 14 June every year and serves to raise awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products as well as to thank voluntary unpaid blood donors for their life-saving gifts of blood. Blood Donation (640x480) At the same event, there were several activities for “No Tobacco Day” such as a poster competition and public health talks by health professionals on tobacco-related health issues : “Tobacco – The good, bad and the ugly”, “Tobacco cessation – Be a quitter! “and “Confessions of an Ex-smoker” by Dr Isaac Lin Tzi Quen (IMU Healthcare), Associate Prof Muneer Gohar Babar (School of Dentistry) and Prof Peter Barling (School of Human Biology) .
