An Associate Professor in the Department of Pathology, School of Medicine, IMU, Dr Sunil Pazhayanur Venkateswaran (in the photo above), participated in the Malaysian Association of Education in Medical & Health Sciences (MAEMHS) Conference 2023 and won the second position in Best Oral Presentation category. Competing with 27 other oral presenters in this category, Dr Sunil won the award for his paper titled “Metacognitive Awareness and its Relation to Students’ Academic Achievement: Time to Ponder its Implications in Curriculum Delivery “. The award carried a cash prize of RM400 and a certificate of the award.
This oral presentation is part of an IMU-JC approved project titled “Metacognitive Awareness and its Relation to Students’ Academic Achievement: Time to Ponder its Implications in Curriculum Delivery “.

| About MAEMHS Conference 2023 |

| The MAEMHS Conference 2023 was organised by the Malaysian Association of Education in Medical and Health Sciences (MAEMHS) with the theme of Flexible Pathways in Health Professions Education. It was held at Universiti Putra Malaysia from 1 to 2 March 2023.
The conference was attended by various educators from all over the world and included a number of pre-conference workshops, plenary sessions, symposia, forums, oral presentations and posters. A number of faculty from IMU were involved as facilitators in the pre-conference workshops, speakers of invited symposiums as well as being involved in oral and poster presentations. |
