The IMU Health Sciences Career Day is held in conjunction with IMU Career Week which started on 24 Feb 2014 and ended with this Career Day exhibition on 1 March 2014. During the Career Week, talks were given during lunchtime (12:00 noon – 2:00pm) by speakers from Pfizer, Guardian Pharmacy, BP Healthcare Group, ScienceVision, Kotra Pharma, Pantai Management Resources, Hospital Kuala Lumpur, Malaysian Dietitian Association and also by lecturers from IMU. Many companies emphasised the importance of soft skills and a good attitude with 2-3 companies stating that it was more important than gaining a good CGPA. Many students from various health sciences programmes who attended the talk said that it gave them a better understanding and knowledge of future job prospects for their relevant courses, and also briefed them on what to expect in the work place as a health science professional. The Health Sciences Career Week proved to be a successful event. It also plays a role as an important forum for businesses and students to network and form crucial industry connections.
