IMU Chiropractic Professor in the News

The IMU faculty members from its various Schools are well known for its research and knowledge on many major issues of our time. In addition to teaching, members of the faculty conduct research, publish in international journals and speak at conferences and seminars throughout the world. Some faculty members have been invited and interviewed on issues affecting the general population at large. Among them is Prof Peter Diakow, a Chiropractic Professor and Head of Division of Chiropractic at IMU. Prof Diakow was interviewed by BFM on 24 June 2014. Prof Peter RP Diakow is currently the Head and Professor, Division of Chiropractic, School of Health Sciences at the IMU. He was in private practice of chiropractic for over 28 years. Prior to coming to IMU, he was the Director of Graduate Studies at Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in Toronto, Canada and later, the Director of the Chiropractic Programme at D’Youville College in Buffalo, New York. He brings with him 22 years of teaching experience in postsecondary education, concentrating in the areas of orthopaedics, musculoskeletal diagnosis, assessment and clinical case management and health promotion and wellness. Prof Diakow’s research interests include non-pain symptomatology in cervical trauma, informal curriculum in clinical education, performance assessment of clinical competencies, health promotion and wellness care delivery in industrial settings and prevention of MSK-induced progressive disability in the elderly.
