IMU’s Associate Dean of Technology Enhanced Learning Elected as Institute of Biomedical Science, UK Fellow

Dr Ebenezer Chitra from the Division of Applied Biomedical Science and Biotechnology, IMU was admitted as IBMS Fellow in July 2023.

 

The Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS) is the leading professional body for biomedical scientists, staff and students in the UK. Faculty and staff in the field of biomedical science can become Associate member, Licentiate member, Member or Fellow. IBMS Fellow is the most advanced recognition and is given to high achieving members. It recognises specialist knowledge and high professional standards.

 

IMU is one of the few universities in Malaysia that has obtained international accreditation from IBMS for its BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science programme. This testament confirms the quality of the programme and its equivalence with international standards.

About Dr Ebenezer Chitra

Dr Ebenezer Chitra obtained her PhD in Immunology from the National Institute of Immunology, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and has two Master’s degrees in Biotechnology and Health Professions Education. She has been the Programme Director for Biomedical Science for four years and has been involved in curriculum review, programme accreditation and partnerships. She is also an active researcher and has published research articles in both scientific and educational fields. She is currently the Associate Dean of Technology Enhanced Learning in IMU.
