The article highlights one of IMU Cares’ projects in the community, particularly among the refugees. Prof Khoo Suan Phaik, IMU’s Dean of  Community Engagement commented on the importance of empowering the community in need with skills to achieve a sustainable outcome. IMU Cares recently gifted ten sewing machines to the Kachin refugee women community as a way to support the community to achieve financial independence.
