IMU Researchers Shine in Top 2% Scientist Ranking

31 Oct 2023

In a research setting, assessing the influence of individual academics often finds its best measure in citation metrics. These metrics, as the name suggests, quantify how frequently a researcher’s work, whether it be a research paper or academic text, is referenced in other academic works like papers, theses, dissertations, and other scholarly texts. In an effort to maintain updated databases of standardised citation metrics encompassing scientists from all fields, a team of researchers affiliated with Stanford University undertook a comprehensive analysis using data from the Scopus online database.

In this analysis, researchers hailing from different parts of the world, who represent the top 2% of scientists in their respective subfields, and who have authored a minimum of five papers, have been recognised and included in the list. Notably, a number of IMU academics are listed in the Stanford University list of top two percent of scientists.
