Medical and Health Sciences Students donate Blood to Hospital in Klang

09 May 2013

25 – 27 March 2013 – 277 units of blood were donated to Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah, Klang from a blood donation campaign held at the IMU campus in Bukit Jalil. Donors were mainly IMU students with majority of them coming from the medical programme. A total of 52 volunteer helpers were recruited for this blood donation drive and the organising committee targeted for 250 units of blood.

Blood donation drives are organised twice a year on a regular basis by the IMU students.  This campaign is directed towards creating awareness, especially among new IMU students to encourage registration of new blood donors, in addition to getting registered blood donors to continue donating blood. The next donation will be in September and the blood will be donated to Hospital Tuanku Ja’afar Seremban.
